We are thrilled to share a game-changing update to our platform, that will make your fundraising efforts so much easier and way more impactful:

Introducing Pledge Functionality: A new way to make every play count! 🏀🏃‍♀️🏉🏁

Since inception, the idea of Sport For Lives was to get your backers to pledge their support based on the results of your event.

For example, let’s say you were a basketball player.

You could ask your “Aunty Jane” to pledge R2 for every 3-throw you or your team scored in a season.

So if you scored 100 3-throws that season, “Aunty Jane” would then make a donation of R2 x 100 = R200.

Until now, your generosity has been outstanding, allowing us all to make a difference in countless lives. However, this was the missing piece to the puzzle.

Up until this point, it’s only been possible to get people to make a random donation amount, regardless of your sporting results. Or you could manually manage a list of pledgers and then ask them 1-by-1 to give at the end of the event.

But not any more.

Our new Pledge functionality allows your backers to not just contribute but actively engage in the excitement of the game!

 

How does it work?

Supporters can now choose to “Give Now” or “Pledge” an amount per try/wicket/goal/etc.”

When a backer chooses to pledge an amount, you’ll both receive a confirmation email. The total combined pledge amount will now also display on your campaign page:

As a campaign manager, you can see a list of all the pledges made.

But the best bit of all…

At the end of the campaign, once your results are finalised, you’ll be able to email all the people who made a pledge (with 1 click), to honour their commitment.

Just think of how much admin time you’ll save having to contact each pledger with their specific contribution calculation, which will now be done with 1 click!

Pledgers will receive an email similar to the picture below with a convenient payment button, making the contribution process seamless.

We believe this new functionality will revolutionise the sports fundraising experience.
