Short Story

On Saturday, 11 April 2026, running enthusiast and The Character Company (TCC) MENtor, Ronewa Sivhaga, will take on the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon 2026 in support of fatherless boys and boys without positive male role models.

This campaign aims to raise R50 000 to support The Character Company’s programme focusing on Uncle Ronewa’s MENtorship group for the year, covering monthly Value Exchange Contributions (VEC), weekly MENtorship sessions, annual camp fees, and character-building excursions that help guide and equip the boys with confidence, strong values, and positive direction for their futures.

By getting behind this cause, you become part of a journey that shapes character, builds confidence, and offers hope to boys who need positive male role models, through either a pledge per kilometre completed or a once-off donation.

Story

The Character Company’s primary goal is to MENtor young boys to become good men. We believe that long-term MENtorship can help to raise a generation of men who are committed to positive family and community values. By providing a personalized MENtorship “service,” we are able to speak into the lives of the boys and their mothers as we learn and see more about the challenges they face. The groups are run in Gauteng, Kwa Zulu Natal and the Western Cape.

We focus on long-term mentoring and relationship-building to achieve our goals, instilling 5 specific values: courage, kindness, self-discipline, honesty, and respect.

We primarily work with young boys between the ages of 5 and 12, but because of our long-term mentoring approach, we will be a part of their lives throughout their school career and into adulthood.
